Letter to a Nameless Lover

Ok, I'm wiped. WAY too tired to dive into a full entry tonight. But I do have a little something to keep you at least somewhat satisfied ha ha A poem I wrote today. (Can't take full credit; the Lord Jesus in the Holy Spirit wrote it through me, and it is SO beautiful. I could never write something this beautiful on my own.) Enjoy.

A letter to a nameless lover

I find myself smiling and for no reason, my dear,

And do you know why?
It is because I am happy to find
That I am happy in love.
I saw weeds in my yard
That had bloomed purple flowers
And I smiled.
And do you want to know why?

It is because I am in love with you

And I find joy in things I would not have before.
I smiled again, and again for no reason,
And the reason is clear:
You have given me a love to be happy,
To rejoice in my other half,
And I to know that even in the little things,
I can be happy
For God has shown me my other half,
And has blessed me for knowing
It is ok to be free in love
And to be free to be in love,
As I have never experienced before.
And do you want to know why
I am writing you this as before?
Because I cannot contain the happiness welling up in my soul
And now I see that, you are happy too
That being in love suits you
And that, as the old country song says,
“You look so good in love.”
The shine is back in your eyes, baby,
And I hope it stays there,
For that glimmer in your eyes makes it to be
One of the most wonderful things in the world to know:
That you are happy, and that is all I want.
Take it as you will my dear,
But as I close this letter,
I want you to know
I love you,
And I always will.
